Course CAD:
The 1st semester course ISCD-CAD ( course number ISCD-1.01 ) provides an introduction in computer aided design tools and methodologies used in the field of microelectronics design.
The whole CAD course accounts for 10 ECTS credit points.
Course Goal:
The focus of this course is on gaining practical experience on how to use CAD tools, it is not on the task of electronics design itself.
Teaching Method:
Most time of this course will be spent on practical work in the EDV room with additional explanations and theoretical background given by the lecturers. Additional reading of literature has to be done at home to prepare for lecture/lab sessions.
Prerequisites:
Prerequisite in attending this course is a basic knowledge of analog and digital VLSI systems and circuit design, semiconductor technology, use of computers and CAD tools, hardware modeling languages (e.g. VHDL, Verilog, …).
Responsible lecturers:
Michael Köberle, Manfred Ley, Chi Zhang
